Day 21
What a wonderful day it was! In the morning we spent a few hours at Promise House again. I love being able to spend time with those kids again, especially Ngiha. It is interesting to me that of all the kids there the one I am closest to is a young teenaged boy. I think one of the things that really draws me to him is his old soul. You can tell he has been through a lot and is mature beyond his years. I love getting him to smile and laugh and be a kid again. Something that is talked about a lot at the office is getting back the years the locusts have eaten. We got to eat lunch with the kids which was fun. I love Vietnamese food and they get so animated during mealtimes. They also take such good care of their company. I had a little girl sitting next to me who paid attention to when I finished things and kept replenishing my food. The only slight challenge was that it was a rice based meal and there was a green something like collards that was dipped in a spicy sauce and put on top of the rice. When I finished the little bit I had the girl would kindly add more to my bowl and my rice was getting more and more spicy! Towards the end, I was just starting to cry from it, and was thankful the soup I was given after was mild.
In the afternoon we returned to the baby orphanage we visited before. It is the hardest location to deal with emotionally that we have visited. There are so few workers for so many kids. They are just barely getting their most basic of needs met. They often wait a bit before their dirty diapers are changed, and they all have bug bites and many have small sores that don't have bandaids. All of us wanted to take some of them home and give them better lives. One of the things I am most excited about marriage is that my husband and I will be able to provide a loving home for needy children. There is a quote I feel fits this even though it was in reference to something else "If there's something wrong, those who have the ability to take action have the responsibility to take action" I am going to do my best to encourage people, including you, to start helping as much as possible.
That evening we stayed the night with the Brewer girls while the parents went out on a date. We watched funny movies, ate cookie dough and enjoyed being together till rather late. I was a fabulous day!
The photo above is Ngiha and I my last trip two and a half years ago and the one below is from yesterday. (Yes I am aware I look the same haha)
Girls night with thirteen girls! There was some makeup and hair styling involved.
How about this? I will tell you about today, tomorrow. Deal? Good, because you don't actually have a say in this. My bed is calling me far too loudly for me to hear any of your objections. Until tomorrow!!

Sleep well.
